It defines Light Gauge Steel Building System called as SMART BUILDING SOLUTION”. LGS buildings are designed using specialist computer aided design, engineering software and manufactured by rolling or pressing steel into semi-finished or finished goods at an ambient temperature. Light Gauge Steel also known as Cold Foam Steel (CFS).

AMNA has developed high quality of external and internal cladding system for LGS by using their patented construction boards MARMOX Multiboard and the World’s lightest concrete Politerm Light Concrete as infill material for the cladding, offering improved quality, speed of construction, design flexibility and environmental performance.

These modern methods are financially attractive alternatives to slower, resource-heavy traditional methods of construction, such as timber, concrete and hot rolled steel. LGS has significant environmental benefits over traditional methods. LGS holds innate characteristics of steel such as non-combustibility, termite and mold resistance and dimensional stability. LGS is a practical solution to many of the challenges faced in traditional building methods currently used in Bahrain.

AMNA Value-add to LGS

Amna has removed the deficiencies in traditional LGS by proposing a one-stop complete solution – with options for cladding using multiboard Marmox, gypsum boards Fermacell and lightest concrete in the world – Politerm Blu (density 250 kg / m3) besides waterproofing.

Steel being infinitely and a green building product, Amna has been able to launch a complete system using its LGS Building Technology.

What’s in LGS for Bahrain?

Demand in 2017 based on population statistics and typical household sizes is for 290,000 units while there are only 216,000 completed units across all property types in the market. An intensive government-led strategy is under way to close the supply/demand gap with 40,000 units scheduled to be introduced under the housing plan by 2020.

According to Cluttons 2017 report, around 5,000 residential units are being completed in Bahrain each year. As it stands, the Ministry of Housing has a waiting list of approximately 55,000, so demand appears to outstrip supply.

To narrow or nullify the gap between demand and supply of housing units in Bahrain, LGS Building Technology with its speed and cost effectiveness is perfectly poised to exploit this opportunity.
